For some reason the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah has become associated with Christmas – even though that is not where it fits in the story. In 1979 I saw this live. I was watching SNL as a teenager, and when this musical guest announced they were going to sing the Hallelujah Chorus I figured it would be a parody. It was not… so Merry Christmas everybody.
