I don’t know that we’ve ever discussed role-playing, etc. on CRN.Info - a cursory search doesn’t pull up anything that looks like it. Having been involved with it in the past, along with being a bit of a sci-fi geek, all of the 80’s panic around D&D seemed so… silly … kind of like backmasking.
With that in mind, I’m reposting a video I tossed up on my personal site a few days ago - which demonstrates what happens if you take something harmless to an extreme (as these apparent LARP’ers did (or at least staged it to look so)).

Even watching this for the 20+ time, I still laugh out loud, with the sad thing being I’ve met a lot of folks like this - particularly when their conference comes to town every year…

No - I do play a couple of LotR-based online games, and do some RPG’ing with my son… Probably my favorite ‘board game’ is Settlers of Catan…

Reno 911 is a funny TV show. A bit crude though…
Sad thing is, I know real people like that…
In the Military. Yeah……..

I used to play D + D once a week until the time commitment got me. It’s funny that it was a time issue and not the overwhelming dorkiness like in this video

How did I miss this thread?! We recently traveled about an hour away to play D&D 4th edition on Game Day this past Saturday. I am not a fan of the new edition although I did enjoy playing a Tiefling Warlord.

I’ve been meaning to try 4th edition, and am sad that I wasnt’ able to play on D + D day.
