Over the next week or so, I’ll be playing with the general look and feel of the site (trying to constrain my tinkering to the wee hours of the US day). Please use this thread to attach comments about things you like/dislike in any changes that occur…

Hey Chris,
Try to remember that some of us have age challenged reading eyes.

There’s too much mischief to be made from allowing edited comments.

Would it be possible to have a pink pony that runs across the screen from time to time, scanning unsubmitted replies, and shouts out “haha, i’m a pink pony and you’re completely missing the point of this thread! pony pony pony!”

I like the pink pony idea. And then from time to time a giant, scaled foot can appear on the screen and squash the pink pony. The foot can have a tattoo on the ankle that says “Ken Silva” scripted across a skull nestled inside a heart.

How about this logo:

Tell the Native Americans that…

“Tell the Native Americans that…”

I like the look I saw yesterday, but now it seems to be gone.

Jerry - still playing around with it. Some found the font too small/hard to read, and it wasn’t rendering correctly for some configurations…

This one is nice too. Maybe it’s just fresh. I like it though.

PS–is there a way we could edit Rick’s comments? (LOL)

“PS–is there a way we could edit Rick’s comments?”
Everyone could tell they had been edited.

I don’t like this one. All the links/recent comments are really smushed together, and you have to really pay attention to read it.
Also, I have yet to see a pink pony, nor robots. There should be robots.
May 30th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Some commenter’s are such sycophants they are almost Robot like.
Hey look a mirror!

Okay, but quoted text looks better.
In summary:
Sidebars bad for people with ADD, Quotes good, pink pony, find robots, and we’re set.
Also, if you could set it up so that the entire website loudly growls “Praise Jesus!” anytime Ingrid or Ken visits, that would be really funny.

pink hearts, yellow moons, green clovers…
I still like yesterday’s look…it just seemed to scream clean.
Maybe a dart board or a link to online donkey kong or pacman just for fun…

I like having the dates on the comments, and the font is nice, but overall, the site lacks the “warmth” of the old scheme. Hope that makes sense.

hey man just settle on something OK?
LOL!
iggy

I thought I went to the wrong website! I like the serif font.
May 30th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
Maybe it just takes some getting used to, but I found the old layout more reader friendly. Or maybe I’m just getting old and resistant to change, finding comfort in the familiar.

Much better…….

I like the gray look.

The colors and layout and format is just great. Is there anything you can do with the content? That would make the entire blog just perfect!!

I am at work and use IE6. It seems to have the comment and new posts on the bottom left. I saw they were on the top right on IE7 which I use at home.
June 2nd, 2008 at 7:57 am
Iggy,
That’s what I’m seeing too. I’m in the same boat - IE6 at work and IE7 at home.
June 2nd, 2008 at 8:13 am
Weird - I’m posting this from IE6, and they are UR. At home I’m IE7 and they are UR… What screen size settings are you using?
June 2nd, 2008 at 8:28 am
I demand that all of you IE users repent and convert to the true internet savior.
FIREFOX! or at the very least SAFARI.
June 2nd, 2008 at 8:33 am
chris,
I would repent, but I predestined to use IE6 at work and IE7 at home.
June 2nd, 2008 at 8:35 am
My screen is set to 1024X768. If I go to 1280X1024, the comments do go to the upper right again. So it does seem like it a screen width issue.

Looks good in IE7 btw
