Guilt by Association is slander

Ingrid engages in guilt by association tactics again by trying to link Jeff Foxworthy’s belief’s with Ravi Zacharias because they appeared at the same event together.

The event in question occurred on September 13th, 2007 and was entitled, “Is America Really Christian?” After looking around the blogosphere for a bit I found two blog entries that contain first hand accounts of the event in question. The first has disappeared from the web, but Technorati saved a snapshot of it for us to enjoy:

Challenge to the soul September 14th, 2007 Yesterday we trekked through rain, wind, and traffic while heading to Atlanta to hear Ravi Zacharias and Michael Ramsden speak on the topic of “Is America Really Christian?” Such a strong, powerful, and passionate message of Jesus Christ who crosses all cultural boundaries

The other comes from a myspace blog:

they covered everything from various world-view philosophies - and the flaws in them to explaining in the most beautiful of terms Salvation — and what comes next!

Her account of the message delivered by Ravi and others continues:

in order for America to be “Christian”, the people that belong to America must be Christians.. not just in name, or because their grandmother and granddaddy were.. but because they were called, and they consciously made the decision to cast aside who they were — and become born again in Christ. <---- that really shot me straight in the heart, i mean -- how many people have i made the mistake of asking if they were Christians -- when i really should have been asking if they were a follower of Christ? do they know Him? have they known Him, but He's become one of those friends that they put away when they "grew up" and became a mature adult?
and, for us Christians -- have we become so "mature" in our lives that we no longer feel the "need" for God, unless something breaks down, or the money is getting tight..or a loved one is sick? in our minds, does God become a vending machine that we drop in a few good deeds for someone we may not like, or pray an eloquent prayer at Bible study, or even put a little extra in the offering basket -- and we expect to have our wants answered in a timely manner..and wonder why if the answer was "no"?

Doesn’t sound like Jesus is disappearing to me.

You can’t make this stuff up! Mrs. Schlueter does provide some comic relief with posts like this. It reveals her relentless drive to find anything about her target du jour.

You might be an apostate if Jeff Foxworthy is your friend.

I still can’t believe they are attacking Ravi.

  3. Rick Frueh Says:

OK - would it be OK with God if Ravi accepted a gospel speaking engagement with PETA?

You can’t make this stuff up!! :)

The only people they don’t attack are the people who link to them excessively.

I think the only way to be safe is to avoid anything resembling influence, action, or good deeds. When your theology is boiled down to a doctrine of sin avoidance and doctrinal purity, the greatest moral exemplars are the people who talk, talk, talk, without actually *doing* anything. When you have the audacity to *do* something, then you might actually make a mistake.

And that’s a major no-no. This is a worldview where being in a coma would be better than being a modern-day Peter.

    Very keen insight M.G.

    That would post well.

He is from India isn’t he… an immigrant to Cananda isn’t he? Not a “true” American…. then …. right…

I just wonder if there is racism at play… any thoughts?

Do you think Ingrid has any idea how badly she is damaging the message of the Gospel with all her lies? I’m with whoever said, “I can’t believe they are attacking Ravi.” I can’t believe they’re attacking Foxworthy. Dude is funny. But seriously, has anyone here ever thought of Foxworthy as a pulpit Christian? But Ravi? Man…oh…man…Ingrid is beyond contempt and every day she is on the internet I dislike her more and more. Colossians 2:16-23.

    Iggy, what’s up? ODM Rules!

If you listen to Ravi Zacharias for more than 3 minutes…you might be apostate.

    or

If you have ever read a book by Bill Hybels you might be apostate.

    or

If you think grace actually has something to do with the way we treat one another in the church…you might be apostate.

I think Ingrid knows she has gone too far with Ravi. Hence article after article of her trying to justify her attacks. We saw Ravi when he was in Cincinnati- anyone who has listened to him for two minutes knows he is not ashamed of Jesus. He preaches in dangerous situations while Ingrid spends her days searching for things to bring faithful Christians down. It’s a sad, pathetic attempt.

Somebody please, please, please, archive those posts so she can’t pull them.

    Jerry,

To then grace is only something that we get so that we can be saved. It is nothing to give away… it is about me being right (self righteous) forgetting what Paul said “As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;”

When we forget that we are no different.

What I took from the Ingrid post is - you cannot call someone a friend who is not a Christian. As far as I can tell that’s her main complaint - Foxworthy is not a Christian, Ravi calls him a friend - BAM - worthy of an ODM crusade.
