you gotta love the elusive editor.  Check out this latest post.  Sounds to me like someone is convicted over their Spurgeon worship.  These guy really gotta get some better material.

The really funny bit is that the word “spurgeon” doesn’t appear in that blog anywhere. So to answer Old Jim over at New Truth, no that isn’t one of the guys that claim Spurgeon gets worshiped.

  2. Rick Frueh Says:

What a waste. You talk about completely off any substantive subject. Have you ever listened to Ken on the radio? He does more name dropping than the pavorazzi.

The guy might have been a little effervescent but that elicits a watchmen post? It’s a good thing Water Martin isn’t buried in New England, Ken would be making pilrgrimmages to get inspriration. Just when I think I’ve seen everything I haven’t. And now I’m not even on the front page of CRN anymore.

I’m watching for some Calvinist to throw up a weather balloon and “wham”, more material for them. Do you know what the definition of “absolute irrelevant” is? It is when Rick Frueh gets an entire post.

This post by the editor is kind of like giving a car a parking ticket in lower Manhattan on 9/11/01. Irrelevant.

I agree. No, wait. I’m undecided.

    I am very confused,

So all the quoting of Spurgeon, the using Spurgeon quotes instead of Scripture and on and on… all that is not idolatry and worship of a person?

But, if i wanted to meet Rich Henry, Chris Lyons and Tim Reed, and Keith the token Calvinist guy, and have them over for a barbecue and even give them a “man-style” hug. I am committing idolatry?

Man that is some twisted rationalization and some far reaching attempt to justify oneself and condemn others while doing it! LOL!

BTW if your name was not mentioned it was nto because i do nto want to meet you, have a barbeque that you are invited to or even give you a man-style hug… that would include about everyone here who comments except maybe a couple… but note it would include Ken Silva and Jim Bublitz!)

    Be blessed,
    iggy

IThat would be great, Iggy. No alcohol though, I’m the weaker brother.

  6. iggy Says:

OK you don’t have to drink any… LOL!

I think this article was in response to my mentioning Andy Stanley the other day, and the fact that Ken made dark comments about him (sans any substantiation) a year ago without mentioning him again since this.

  8. Jimmy Says:

    Iggy,

    I will take Ricks! :)

  9. iggy Says:

    Jimmy,

I was gonna drink it myself… but I will share.

    LOL!

You can have mine too. But I’m in for the group hug. I think I upset Tim this weekend.

  11. NC Says:

    i LOOOOOVED that post.

As if expressing excitement about meeting a hero is the same thing as the daily copy/paste of Spurgeon on numerous blogs.

As if ONE post by ONE guy actually means something for all of us.

Andy Stanley represents the next generation of “pragmatic” church leaders a la’ Hybels, etc.

Once again conflating the mega-church movement and the emerging church…

    Kieth,

You can have mine too. But I’m in for the group hug. I think I upset Tim this weekend.

Only as long as it is a man-style hug… and there are witnesses… and you are on your meds… (just kidding unless they are needed) Hey, I might have upset you on the thread “Is it just me…” but we all have our bad days! lol!

I usually try to really limit my beer intake to two at the most in a day… and that spread out. So I will pass it on to someone else.

    Be Blessed,
    iggy

I will give Ken credit here, as his title was actually pretty clever. Unfortunately, his point was lame.
