I like this Ken

So, Ken Silva has reposted an article he wrote nearly 2 years ago. It definitely reflects a kinder and gentler Ken Silva than many of us have come to know. It makes me wonder what has caused such a change in his heart over the past 24 months. Yes there was the occasional jab at the emerging church, but the article actually had some good content in it. I didn’t have to wade thru the obscene name calling and outlandish accusations that have become a staple in Mr. Silva’s articles. It made me want to hear what he had to say, rather than constantly refute what he says.
I wonder what happened to this Ken Silva.

It is what happens when we begin to think too highly of ourselves. The paradox is that the more popular or controversial you get the more you are tempted to push the envelope. Eventually we could wind up with a group of people who believe everything we say, and that usually will manifest itself in abuse because we were never created to have such subjective sway over the minds of men.
Ken has enormous research capabilities and is very capable of making cojent arguments, but sometimes that isn’t worth the limelight sacrifice.

Actually I ran into some thing that Ken wrote in 2005 and I had to re-read it to make sure it was the same guy… the article was a “guest” article on someone else’s website and was very articulate… which I know a few of Ken’s “missives” are NOT BAD… yet there does seem to be this downhill slide into mudslinging and name-calling… I mean, (and you can ask Rick F on this) if someone approaches me and wants to talk and even if do nto agree I am a nice guy…. no really…
stop laughing…
now…
oh good grief get of the floor….
Rick? will you let them know it’s true?
Blessings,
iggy
