An Improved Slice

So this morning I pulled up Slice, and this is what I got (click to see a bigger image).
I have to say that it is an incredible improvement on the original, as it is less likely to lure in and fool immature Christians than the previous format. However, I find some of the associated links, hmmm, interesting.
- From the top link, there is this Slice Chair, which looks much more comfortable than pews, and looks far more likely to show up in an ECM church than in the proper, cold, uncomfortable sanctuary of Ingrid’s church (I’m pretty certain the pews in Jesus’ church didn’t have cushions, so why should ours?).
- Next, we have this gem from Truth or Tradition, where we learn that most of the Bible was not written to Christians and has no application for them, including the parts which speak of tithing. It is run by the Biblical Uniterian organization, which is anti-Trinitarian and all sorts of other things that would give one pause for concern.
- Beach Front Futures - this is certainly displays the beauty in God’s creation much more evidently that links from the old Slice, though. Granted, this is something I might expect to see from a health & wealth ministry, but apparently Google finds some linkage with Slice, so perhaps living on a beach near Cabo isn’t completely out of Ingrid’s future. (Raise a flag to signal you are ready for breakfast which is delivered to your deck by canoe. It’s as romantic as it gets, we are told.)
- Abbot Goods Church Supplies - The first page I get when I pull this up has a great big ad for Friar Tuck Wrinkle-Free priest’s shirts. Perhaps the new Slice is going a bit ecumenical on us, now including both Catholic and non-Trinitarian links on their ‘improved’ site.
- CT Scanners - What would “Pastor Paul” say about this? Perhaps you don’t need an MRI, and it’s just your “indwelling sin nature” that needs exorcising. Though, perhaps, this link was determined by Google as a cure for what ails ‘em…
- Next, we have a link from “Good News Ministries”, part of the United Church of God, an International Association, which some friends of ours escaped from several years ago, still referring to it as a ‘cult’. This is an organization which eschews Christian holidays, keeps Jewish festivals, holds a non-Trinitarian view of God, and has a number of similarities to the JW’s… And Google closely associates it with Slice. Not really surprising, despite the differences in theology…
- To go along with the beach front page, we’ve got Florida Vacation Rentals, and while you’re there, you can cut the slice off of your golf swing. Who knew such luxury would be associated with Ingrid and Slice. Praise be to the magic of Google for revealing this underlying theme…
- Perhaps the SBC isn’t so bad, after all, since Slice is also apparently linking to Zero Grams of Fat on KFC’s website. This will be great to enjoy on the beach, while attending a non-Trinitarian church…
- Finally, the one truly edifying main link on the “new” Slice site - a link to West Point Church, an emerging church in Florida. Perhaps Ingrid is softening…
So, what’s the verdict? Just as before, there are certainly a number of minefields on Slice to be avoided, though they are in some ways easier to identify, and in other ways a bit more insidious. However, this change in Slice must have been predestined, so let us rejoice and be glad in it! While we can pray that God’s providence in this matter will continue, I suspect that sooner or later, Cerberus will return…

Ha ha.
The sin of a place-holder web page.
Ha ha ha ha.
The danger of the vagaries of randomly generated link content.
The backsliddeness of the algorithms based upon key-word derivations.
Ha ha ha.

It seems much improved! In fact i think there is more useful info and other things there now than before…. (he-he)
Somehow I am sure we sill pay for this post somehow at the Return of Slice.
Be Blessed,

The money changers. My blog shall be a blog of prayer and you have made it a den of merchandisers. The pressure of finances will create compromise defined as God’s leading. If it works, CRN will follow Ingrid’s leading as is their custom.

All I can say is you guys will never learn until you have flames licking at your ankles and then it will be too late.
As I have said here before there is a very BIG difference between what Slice does and the juvenile antics you guys carry on with over here.
Its all in the intent my friends and it is very clear here that your only motivation is to snear as those who defend Truth.
That in and of itself is evidence enough of Hearts that are not where they should be. It doesnt matter a bit whether who you are snearing at is doing right or not. The simple fact that you can actually sit over here and carry on like this shows the true state of your hearts and my friends it aint pretty.
And Rick Frueh, you need to take down your Judahslion website. you cannot sit over there and dispense what you consider Biblical Wisdom and then come over here and snear at people. It sort of makes you a very big hypocrite. know what I mean.
The floor if yours guys so get those fangs out and lets see some more of your childish chatter. Or if you have enough of a Christian backbone you might issue an apology for this sad sad display.
“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

oh and one last thing.
Please dont insult anyones intelligence by pointing out what you think Slice has been guilty of and that therefore somehow justifies your snears on this thread.
You seem to be pretty good as using that as a crutch for your anti-Chritian behavior.

“until you have flames licking at your ankles and then it will be too late.”
An especially nice touch. Is that a reference to burning at the stake or the fires of hell? It must be the stake because the flames in hell go higher than the ankle.
Now do we get that because we are not saved or we have lost our salvation? Please keep reading Judah’s Lion because I need people to buy things from my advertisments.

I am in agreement……I like the new Slice site much better.
The only thing missing is a link to Kerusso.

How many jokes and witty verbal blows is Julie keeping to herself in reaction to True Discernment John’s comments as an exercise in self-control?
Countless numbers.
The best thing about the New Slice is the offer for a Slice of Cake.
I love cake.

“snear”? What is “snear”?

John,
“All I can say is you guys will never learn until you have flames licking at your ankles and then it will be too late.”
Hey, since you have the Lamb’s Book of Life there I have some people for you to look up!
Hmmm… Did you also usurp the Throne from Jesus?
Since I am in Christ, there is no condemnation… except from you it seems…
So, if your judgment is better then Jesus, then keep casting those stone bro!
Be Blessed,

John,
“Please dont insult anyones intelligence by pointing out what you think Slice has been guilty of and that therefore somehow justifies your snears on this thread.”
Denial is not a good thing… and is a snear a female snipe?
Just wondering?

Also, John,
To quote the wise and grace filled and loving Ken Silva…
“Get over it.”

Seriously though, that cannot be what Slice is going to be can it? Are there going to be articles? Where is the little paragraph about the falling away of the church? Is Ingrid just going to use the radio to combat people like Warren?
I don’t get it, however that’s nothing new. I just got Skype though and spoke with Tim Reed for an hour (usually my minimum). This technology makes me feel so smart, like one small hookup for mankind, one giant technological leap fo a man.
If you would like to talk sometime (I’m still recovering from surgery so time is on my time (Stones)) e-mail me with your handle and I will give you mine.
Voices coming from a box, witchcraft I tell ya, witchcraft!!

Weird. It’s still like that. The name servers should have switched over by now, if that were the issue…
September 8th, 2007 at 10:07 am
Maybe they/she has decided to take the site down….again….
September 8th, 2007 at 10:09 am
Well, I’m not going to lose sleep over it, whatever the case.
September 8th, 2007 at 10:19 am
Hey Chris, I clicked on the Slice link and I saw a Mormon T-shirt company being advertised. I clicked there and sure enough it was LDS. It isn’t there now but it was.

“Please dont insult anyones intelligence by pointing out what you think Slice has been guilty of and that therefore somehow justifies your snears on this thread.”
probably one of the funniest things I have read all day! Should that apply to your little attack dog ministry too John? How bout to Slice or CRN? It should read
“Please dont insult anyones intelligence by pointing out what you think Rick Warren and Rob Bell has been guilty of and that therefore somehow justifies your snears on this thread.”
Maybe you should look at that hypocrisy before you come all big and bold here.

My guess - and it’s only a guess - is that a 2 year payment for sliceoflaodicea.com expired without payment and Go-Daddy (whom I believe was the registrar of the SoL website) has put up Google Ad-Sense to cash in on this until such time as Ingrid ponies up for another couple years.
September 8th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
Russ - Can that be possible? Ingrid didn’t pay her bills? I find that hard to believe, its got to be something else. And I did go to a Mormon website from the present SOL site.
Truth is stranger than fiction.

Cool. The top link on Slice is now Journey Church. Between that and a Slice of Pie, I think this is the high-water mark for Slice…
September 8th, 2007 at 7:08 pm
There is a link entitled “The Church That Jesus Built” on the Slice page. They are a strain from the Herbert Armstrong Worldwide Church od God which was a cult. I cannot imagine Ingrid allowing that.
What in the world is going on???
September 9th, 2007 at 5:56 am
Rick - looks like the whois information for the site show the registration good through 12 Aug 2008, so my thought of an expired domain name registration was wrong.
Sure hope that iPowerWeb shares with Ingrid some of the cash being generated by the ad-page everyone is going to right now…
I second the Slice of Your Pie and am fascinated by the Custom Steeples….hope these come with free shipping since I’m ordering the slice of your pie.

And from Johns website I give you:

And:
And finally:
But when you can spout scripture decrying everyone elses “childish ways” I guess you can say whatever you want.
As for me and my “heels of flame” (I’ve just now trademarked that name for a running shoe company) I’ll continue to read Ricks site for spiritual insight. And I’ll run an add on Slice’s new site for my new sneaker line.
