This Walter Martin tape is being used way out of context if it is toward Dan Kimball…
In fact the only “fear” I see is that Ken has seen he is wrong and wants to now save face and hide under that “semi pelagian” Walter Martin.
The point of Walter was that a Universalist wants to please everyone… and in the Unitarian tradition that seems to fit… but Ken has yet to show or even prove that Dan Kimball is a Universalist….
As we had the discussion in another thread, there are some that are, or lean toward universalism, yet still are not “pure” universalists as they still believe in Hell…. which according to Ken they also do not believe in. (GO and figure out that one… how can all emergents deny hell and still believe in it?)
Anyway if this show anything it shows Ken is captured by fear and sees God as unable to protect and preserve His own Body which is the church…
IOW, there was a lot of yapping and a lot of blah, blah blah, but nothing to back any of Ken’s accusations and in the end Ken has lost face and a whole bunch of credibility. Really he has shamed the name of Walter Martin…
Blessings,
iggy
